... and then the end will come.

On Christmas day (2008) our family got together at my brother's house. Someone at the party asked me "why are you going all the way to Africa to help people when there are hurricane victims here in the United States that need help".

Her statement is valid but you also have to understand that there are not many people that will get a passport, get immunized for polio, hepatitis A/B, meningitis, typhoid and yellow fever, measles, mumps, rubella, take malaria pills every day, endure a 15 hour flight, live without plumbing or electricity and very limited food to help another human in need and tell them about Jesus.

Another family member suggests that if all Christians would get on their knees together and pray for Jesus to come and take us home that the prayer would be so powerful that God would have to honor it.

But if you look in Matthew you will find the following verse:
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14

Jesus can't return to take us home until everyone knows the Good News and has had a chance to either accept it or reject it.

That's why I'm going to Africa... Because, HE sent me.
